Enjoyed a nice day yesterday! Always blessed by my family & the love they shower on Mothers Day! I spent Saturday making truffles for our church to give to the mom's & while I was making them I just reflected on how thankful I am that my mom is still alive. I know a lot of people who's mom's are no longer with them & it made me thankful I still have mine to celebrate with. Growing up my mom was thee most patient & kind person I ever knew. I remember even recognising it at a young age. Being appreciative that she would help bake a batch of cupcakes at the 11th hour for a party that I had forgot to tell her about, or running me to town for a white shirt & black pants for a choir performance that was that very night, the endless hours of driving me all over, or the free time she gave up to help lead Girl Scouts!! I'll not bore you with more, but I just recall how patient she was with these things, very rarely getting upset at doing something that wasn't on her "radar" for the day, she wasn't so task/appointment oriented that when I came up with something last minute she would come unraveled, most often is was a gentle scolding & then on with whatever we needed to get done! It just made me so thankful for what she taught me about being patient & flexible when little curve balls are thrown at me! She taught me a lot, by just doing what needed to be done, without complaining, yelling, or being cruel. She wasn't (isn't) perfect, but she is pretty great, and I am so thankful for her!
K~
